CHRISTIE BRINKLEY LAUNCHES A LINE OF ORGANIC ITALIAN PROSECCOS

Model, mom, and author Christie Brinkley adds vintner to her resume with a new line of Italian proseccos.
Iconic supermodel Christie Brinkley graced over 500 magazine covers, before later transitioning her career to author, entrepreneur, mother, philanthropist, and actress. Now, at age 62, she is launching Bellissima, an exclusive line of organic proseccos.
The three varieties—Bellissima Zero Sugar sparkling wine, Bellissima Sparkling Rosé, and Bellissima DOC Brut—are all made in Treviso, Italy, near Venice, from organic grapes. “Our vineyard has never had chemicals on it,” says Brinkley. “For as long as it’s existed, it’s been organic.”
Bellissima Sparkling Rosé, made from Pinot Grigio grapes, is fresh and fruity, with hints of strawberry and grapefruit. The Brut, a classic prosecco, is aromatic and dry, with scents of green apple and freshly baked bread. The Zero Sugar is also a brut wine with the sugars removed naturally through double fermentation.
“To be able to have a prosecco that doesn’t have the villain sugar in it is really exciting,” says Brinkley, who also designed the labels with the image of Venus, which represents beauty. “If you’re dieting and you still want to have that little glass to celebrate with friends, then you have my Zero, and you’ll love the flavor and you’ll love the little giggly thing that you get.”
Also on the horizon for the mom of three—she’s about to become an empty-nester, with her youngest, daughter Sailor, starting college in the fall. But after writing a beauty book, Timeless Beauty: Over 100 Tips, Secrets and Shortcuts to Looking Great, and launching a line of beauty products, Authentic Skin, plus a new line of hair extensions, the Hair2Wear Christie Brinkley Collection, about to debut, she has much to keep her busy.
Says Brinkley, “I’m focused right now on launching my businesses. This year is really all about kicking my prospects into high gear.”
