Miami Art Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a tad hot and sticky in Miami during this year\u2019s top art fairs: Art Basel, Art Miami, Art Context and Art Aqua, so one needed to chart one\u2019s\u00a0week to be near the cool ocean breezes. Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>, Madonna<\/strong>, Steven Cohen<\/strong>, Venus Williams<\/strong>, Howard Lorber<\/strong>, Dasha Zhukova<\/strong>, Leo Villareal<\/strong> and Yvonne<\/strong> Force<\/strong>, A-Rod<\/strong>, Janna Bullock<\/strong> and her daughter Eugenia<\/strong>, Leesa Voron<\/strong> and her son Daniel<\/strong>, Paris Hilton<\/strong>, Michael Strahan<\/strong>, Nina Agdal<\/strong>, Fox News\u2019s Kimberly Guilfoyle<\/strong>, designers to the rich and richer, Tony Ingrao<\/strong> and Randy Kemper<\/strong> and others of that ilk and stripe kept their hair picture perfect despite the horrid humidity. Barbra Streisand<\/strong> and her husband James\u00a0<\/strong>Brolin<\/strong> were spotted at the Art Basel preview looking at Picassos while Jon Bon Jovi<\/strong> was checking out blue chip artists and Bernie Taupin\u2019s Flag collages at Art Miami.<\/p>\n

The 1 Hotel South Beach: City\u2019s Hot New Hotel<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where you stay when you travel says a lot, about who you are. All rooms are not created equally, so it\u2019s imperative to book the right hotel and the right room;one with a view. The rule is simple; if you don\u2019t look out your windows and see an identifiable landmark , then get a better room or a better hotel. In Miami Beach, there are a lot of hotels, and as long as you are on Collins Avenue and face the ocean, you\u2019re okay. But why settle for okay, when you can be in paradise. This year\u2019s prime pick was\u00a01 Hotel South Beach. This luxurious, green-focused, environmentally-friendly oasis, built by Richard Lefrak<\/strong> is surely the place to see and be seen this season.\u00a0My spacious white and beige suite had a balcony facing the ocean, a living room, dining table and a kitchen. (The latter was a whimsical touch in a restaurant-obsessed city.) \u00a0There is also a $20 million duplex penthouse and other spectacular apartments you can buy to display the\u00a0Andy Warhol<\/strong> and Keith Haring<\/strong> paintings you bought at the fairs.<\/p>\n

The Weeks 10 Best Parties<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Madonna\u2019s Tears of a Clown concert and benefit for Raising Malawi at the Faena Forum, a hot new event venue, took the top prize for fun, performance and mischief.\u00a0Sean Penn<\/strong>\u00a0gleefully handcuffed his ex-wife on stage saying, \u201cAs Americans we\u2019re used to serving either a queen or a clown but I\u2019m used to doing both. The Material girl shot back \u201cI think I love you more now than when we were married.\u201d Dear, dear Madonna. The $5,000 ticket didn\u2019t guarantee you a seat, but who stands when Madge\u00a0sings? For $150,000, you got a table of ten with chairs. In the room:\u00a0Leo DiCaprio<\/strong>,\u00a0Chris Rock<\/strong>,\u00a0Ariana<\/strong>\u00a0Grande<\/strong>,\u00a0Jeremy Scott<\/strong>,\u00a0David Blaine<\/strong>,\u00a0Adriana Lima<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Courtney Love<\/strong>\u00a0to name but a few.   2. Real estate tycoon,\u00a0Aby Rosen<\/strong>\u00a0and his wife\u00a0Samantha Boardman<\/strong>\u00a0delivered a sizzling soir\u00e9e at The Dutch. Guests included\u00a0Elle Macpherson<\/strong>,\u00a0Julie<\/strong>\u00a0Macklowe<\/strong>,\u00a0Guy Oseary<\/strong>,\u00a0Allison Sarofim<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Nick Acquavella<\/strong>. Among those dancing at the after party hosted by\u00a0Stavros Niarchos<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Vito<\/strong>\u00a0Schnabel<\/strong>\u00a0were\u00a0Mr. Brainwash<\/strong>,\u00a0Princess Noor Pahlavi<\/strong>,\u00a0Rosario Dawson<\/strong>,\u00a0Asia Chow<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Claudine DeNiro<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Paloma Picasso<\/strong>\u00a0was toasted \u00a0at the1 Hotel pool for 35 years of designing jewelry for Tiffany. Guests included Google\u2019s\u00a0Eric Schmidt<\/strong>,\u00a0Tico\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Colby Mugrabi<\/strong>,\u00a0Princess Eugenie<\/strong>,\u00a0Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos<\/strong>,\u00a0Dr. Eric Thevenet<\/strong>,\u00a0Christopher Brant<\/strong>,\u00a0Shelly<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Vincent Fremont<\/strong>,\u00a0Andrea Franchini<\/strong>,\u00a0Dan Duray<\/strong>,\u00a0Kelly Brant<\/strong>,\u00a0Christina Monfredi<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Dylan Brant<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Bruce Weber<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Nan Bush<\/strong>\u00a0launched the newest addition to their book series,\u00a0All-American XV1<\/em>. The event was hosted by\u00a0Jason Binn<\/strong>\u00a0and boasted a seemingly endless parade of beautiful models, the men that love them, yummy sushi and a long list of co-hosts that included\u00a0Alexa Greenfield<\/strong>,\u00a0Audrina Patridge<\/strong>,\u00a0Hollie Watman<\/strong>,\u00a0Jonathan Greller<\/strong>,\u00a0Karolina Kurkova<\/strong>\u00a0and Miami Beach Mayor\u00a0Philip Levine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. P. Diddy<\/strong>\u2019s fanny basher at Rockwell was where the crowd that likes to party late did that. Puff Daddy showed up at 3:30am to rock the house with\u00a0Kenny \u201cThe Jet\u201d Smith<\/strong>,\u00a0Tyson Beckford<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Chris Paciello<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. The opening of\u00a0Nick Korniloff<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0edgy Art Aqua is an inspired concept. The Aqua Hotel is emptied of all its furniture and every room becomes a gallery. What made this intriguing was that almost all the artists were in their rooms talking about their art. One of\u00a0Jay-Z<\/strong>\u2018s\u00a0favorite\u00a0artists,\u00a0Hebru Brantley,<\/strong>\u00a0sold briskly\u00a0at the\u00a0Vertical Gallery\u00a0during the opening.\u00a0Last\u00a0year,\u00a0the rapper and music\u00a0mogul\u00a0snapped up a\u00a0multiple\u00a0face painting entitled \u201cEveryone\u2019s Scared\u201d\u00a0by the hot 32-year old\u00a0and had him\u00a0personally deliver it to his hotel.\u00a0Also, making buzz was the\u00a0glass artist\u00a0Banjo<\/strong>,\u00a0who showed functional\u00a0bongs\u00a0at Grey\u00a0Space Art. Among the guests were\u00a0Paper Factory Hotel owner,\u00a0Gal Sela<\/strong>, attorney\u00a0Brad Gerstman<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0event planner\u00a0Harriette Rose Katz<\/strong>. A young crowd mixed and mingled into the night.<\/li>\n
  7. Jon Bon Jovi<\/strong>\u00a0played an intimate concert at the Faena Hotel. Among those tapping their toes were\u00a0Donna Karen<\/strong>,\u00a0Andy Cohen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Calvin Klein<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  8. Architectural Digest<\/em>\u2019s editor-in-chief,\u00a0Amy Astley<\/strong>, hosted a glamorous dinner at the Delano Hotel in celebration of their partnership with Art Production Fund (APF) to present their Tenth Annual Artist Towel Series being sold at the Delano\u2019s gift shop. Guests included\u00a0Martha Stewart<\/strong>,\u00a0Tony Ingrao<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Randy Kemper<\/strong>,\u00a0Amy Sacco<\/strong>,\u00a0Colby Mugrabi<\/strong>,\u00a0Kyle DeWoody<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Yvonne Force Villareal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  9. The Bass Museum\u2019s\u00a0Silvia Karman Cubina<\/strong>, Phillips Auction House and\u00a0Stefano Tonchi<\/strong>, editor-in-chief of\u00a0W<\/em>, gave a dinner at Mr. Chow\u2019s in honor of\u00a0Ugo Rondinone<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cMiami Mountain\u201d project. Among those chowing down were\u00a0Yvonne Force<\/strong>\u00a0and her husband\u00a0Leo Villareal<\/strong>\u00a0(the cover boy and girl\u00a0on the December issue of AVENUE)and\u00a0Jean Pigozzi<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  10. Lisa Fayne Cohen<\/strong>\u00a0hosted a party at Casa Fendi where she curated an exhibit and flew all of the artwork from New York on her private plane. She also had one of her\u00a0James Rosenquist<\/strong>\u00a0paintings (worth seven figures) brought in from her house in Palm Beach. Guests viewed the huge canvas from behind velvet ropes with a guard on either side.\u00a0Laura Kimpton<\/strong>\u00a0installed a 20-foot sculpture of the word love in rainbow letters at the entrancel; it was last seen at Burning Man. The rain sent 400 guests running for cover at 11, just as the police arrived to break up the party.
