Foursome, the newly opened Mediterranean restaurant and lounge on Jones Street, is a vibrant addition to the neighborhood, blending Turkish heritage with a cosmopolitan flair. The name nods to its four founders\u2014Haldun Kilit, Kaan Sekban, Tuba Demircioglu, and Oya Mungan\u2014each of whom brings a unique sensibility to the space: design, hospitality, food, and art.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe name Foursome actually came about on a boat in Turkey,\u201d Mungan recalls with a laugh. \u201cWe wanted something that represented the four of us. And when Americans ask about the name, I tell them: \u2018Threesome is too old. At the heart of it is the \u201cAegean Dream,\u201d a traditional Turkish breakfast that includes menemen, simit (Turkish sesame bagel), sucuk sausage, feta and halloumi cheeses, fresh olives, tomatoes, jams, acuka, and Turkish tea served in tulip-shaped glasses. \u201cBreakfast in Turkey is a festival,\u201d says Mungan. \u201cWe believe happiness starts with breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Executive Chef Kenan Atmaca, along with Chefs Melih Turgay Y\u0131lmaz and Ferhat Kanca, bring pedigree and passion to the kitchen. With experience serving royals and helming Michelin-starred restaurants, their combined talents shape a menu that is both rustic and refined. For brunch, the \u201cFoursome Rainbow Pancake\u201d\u2014made with matcha, beets, and spirulina\u2014is a colorful standout. For lunch and dinner, expect hearty mezes, pishi tacos made with fried Turkish dough, and mains like sumac-crusted salmon or braised short ribs with eggplant orzo and chili blueberry sauce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But don\u2019t expect Foursome to follow the traditional cadence of a New York restaurant. \u201cIn America, brunch is a weekend thing,\u201d Mungan says. \u201cWe serve brunch six days a week. For us, every day is brunch day. Why wait?\u201d<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><b>A Mediterranean Postcard &amp;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Bob Dylan Tribute <\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">That slower, more mindful pace is intentional. \u201cWe want people to slow down and enjoy their food. Savor it. We are not good for rush people,\u201d she jokes. \u201cWe are trying to change habits. Fast food is not healthy. Slower countries live longer.\u201d That philosophy extends beyond the plate. Foursome\u2019s interior feels like a Mediterranean postcard \u2014white chairs, wooden tables, and walls adorned with vibrant, ingredient-themed art imported from Turkey. A special corner pays tribute to Bob Dylan, who once lived nearby. \u201cWe even named a cocktail after him,\u201d says Mungan.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><b>An Exciting &amp; Exotic Beverage Program<\/b><b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">And speaking of cocktails\u2014bartender Jorge Ramirez, known for his time at Blind Barber, leads the beverage program with layered drinks that channel Turkish ingredients. His \u201cEspresso Fortuni\u201d features Turkish espresso and cardamom; the \u201cTurkish Delight\u201d offers a rose gin base topped with elderflower cold foam and dusted with cardamom and rose petals. For Pride Month, Ramirez appears as his drag alter ego, Gigi Martini, \u201cshaking up cocktails with a side of glam, sass, and sparkle.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><b>Rotating Art Exhibitions<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">Foursome also plans to support local artists through rotating exhibitions and talks, a reflection of co-founder Demircioglu\u2019s background curating public art spaces in Dubai. \u201cWe want to showcase both emerging and established artists,\u201d Mungan says. \u201cIt\u2019s food, drink, and culture all in one space.\u201d At its core, Foursome isn\u2019t just a restaurant\u2014it\u2019s an expression of hospitality, identity, and joy. It\u2019s a space where a leisurely breakfast might stretch into cocktails, and strangers might leave as friends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe built this place to share what we love,\u201d Mungan says. \u201cThe food, the culture, the hospitality.
