Jean and Martin Shafiroff hosted a cocktail party with their special guest Patrick McMullan celebrating St. Patrick\u2019s Day as well as the society photographer\u2019s birthday with the evening honoring Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Guests were encouraged to wear green with Shafiroff donning a spectacular green and gold Oscar de la Renta ballgown.<\/p>\n

McMullan, known for his St. Patrick\u2019s Day parties, was thrown a surprise dinner by Shafiroff in 2017. Patrick is said to be one of the inventors of modern social and event photography, and the Irish Embassy has called him \u201ca vital Irish American.\u201d<\/p>\n

Midway through the event, Jean<\/a> commanded the attention of the room to talk about the importance of the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and how it \u201cwas vital to residents of the East End.\u201d She then added with a smile, \u201cthere are two things you need \u2013 a good hospital and a good ambulance.\u201d She then introduced Patrick calling him, \u201cthe icon of icons.\u201d Patrick also stressed the importance of the hospital saying, \u201cI am incredibly grateful for the hospital as, without it, I wouldn\u2019t be here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital 61st<\/sup>Annual Summer Party will take place on Saturday, August 3rd<\/sup>and Jean and Martin have been named this year\u2019s honorees. In addition, Jean Shafiroff has been named to the board of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Association.<\/p>\n
