Who Is Gojo Satoru?

Gojo’s Powers and Abilities
Gojo is built around a rare combination of inherited gifts, and each one has a role in his fights.
The Six Eyes
The Six Eyes let Gojo perceive cursed energy in extreme detail and use it with almost no waste. This gives him near-perfect control, which is why he can use techniques that would drain other sorcerers within moments.
Limitless and Infinity
His cursed technique, Limitless, lets him manipulate space. Its most famous use is Infinity, an invisible barrier that makes incoming attacks slow down endlessly before they reach him. Most enemies can’t land a single hit.
Lapse Blue, Reversal Red, and Hollow Purple
Gojo expands Limitless into three named techniques:
- Lapse Blue: pulls objects toward a point
- Reversal Red: pushes things away with explosive force
- Hollow Purple: merges the two into a blast that erases whatever it hits
Hollow Purple is among the most recognizable attacks in anime.
Domain Expansion: Unlimited Void
His Domain Expansion floods the target’s mind with infinite information, leaving them unable to move or think. It’s one of the series’ most visually striking sequences.
Major Story Moments
The teacher. Early in the story, Gojo protects Yuji after he swallows a cursed finger and argues to keep him alive instead of executing him. This sets up the central teacher-student bond.
Shibuya Incident. During Season 2 Part 2, which covered the Shibuya Incident arc, Gojo was sealed away in the Prison Realm by Kenjaku. The arc is considered a turning point for the series, and Gojo’s absence changes the whole tone of the story.
Return and Shinjuku Showdown (manga). In the manga, Gojo is freed and faces Ryomen Sukuna in a long, high-stakes battle. He dies in the fight. His death is one of the most debated moments in recent manga history, and it triggered strong reactions from fans worldwide.
Gojo’s Legacy After His Death
Gojo’s story didn’t end with his death. In the spin-off Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, Yuta Okkotsu officially takes over from Gojo, and he is described as having the potential to surpass his teacher. Coverage in 2026 also notes a new Gojo who helps raise the next generation. The Gojo name and legacy continue through the next generation of sorcerers.
